Dear all,
You are sincerely invited to the dhamma talk session organised by ICBS this coming Thursday, 7pm. We are extremely honoured to be able to invite Venerable Ajahn Khemadhammo Luangpor (OBE) to talk about Rights and Responsibilities in a Buddhist’s context. Over the past few years, Ajahn has been visiting Imperial College annually to meet us and to share his insights from his vast knowledge and experience in Buddhism.
Please note that we’re holding the event in Huxley LT308 instead of the Chaplaincy, because of the larger size of audience expected. Usherers will be around on that day to lead you to the venue.
This event is a public event for both members and non-members. No RSVP is required, so feel free to invite your friends to the talk too. Light refreshments will be served.
Venerable Ajahn Khemadhammo is a hugely respected Theravada Buddhist monk. He was born in England in 1944. After becoming an ordained monk in Thailand, in 1977 he returned to the U.K. and set up a small monastery on the Isle of Wight. In 1984, at the invitation of a group of Buddhist meditators that he had been visiting monthly for some years, he moved to Banner Hill near Kenilworth and formed the Buddha-Dhamma Fellowship. In 1985, he moved to his current residence, the Forest Hermitage, a property in Warwickshire.
Ajahn Khemadhammo began Buddhist prison chaplaincy work in 1977. In 1985, with the help of others, Angulimala, the Buddhist Prison Chaplaincy, was launched with him as its Spiritual Director.
Ajahn Khemadhammo was appointed an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, June 2003 for ‘services to prisoners’. In December 2004, on the birthday of the King of Thailand, he was made a Chao Khun with the ecclesiastical title of Phra Bhavanavitayt; he was only the second foreign-born monk to receive such an honour.
We look forward to seeing all of you there!
With metta.
Kangyu Lim
ICBS Vice President
More often than not, we are caught up with the ups and downs of life, and therefore wondered what true eternal happiness is. This discussion aims to help us gain an insight into the Buddha’s teachings on happiness.
We are honoured to be able to invite Axxu Hoi, a Buddhist practitioner with years of experience, to lead this discussion session.

Dear ULUBUDA members
I hope that all of you have had a great holiday. With the start of the new term, ULUBUDA will once again be resuming its activities and weekly meditation sessions.
However, there will not be any activity on 10 January 2011 as Ajahn Sangthong will not be free on that day. Hence, our first meditation session for the new term will be on Monday, 17 January 2011 instead.
Hope to see you on 17th January!
